PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Freelance Editor
Turner Sports / NBA TV / NBA.com. September 2008 – Present.
Edit highlight packages of nightly NBA games using Final Cut Pro. Edit together best elements from
games to tell the story of the game in a quick turnaround environment. Add graphic and musical components to highlights, and work with talent to incorporate voice over elements for posting on NBA.com.
Producer
Roanoke Valley Television – RVTV. August 2000 – August 2008.
Produced, wrote, shot, and edited regularly scheduled programming, special programs, and PSA’s.
Produced monthly show for Roanoke City Public Schools and quarterly show for Roanoke County
Parks, Recreation & Tourism working with talent to obtain segment ideas, procuring and scheduling
guests and working with staff to tape segments and cover video. Regularly shot and edited using
DVCam format and non-linear Avid editing suites. Directed and webcasted live government meetings
using manual and robotic equipment. Encoded and uploaded shows and other programming for online
video playback. Other duties included encoding programming and scheduling weekly television
schedule via server software and updating announcements on video message board.
Production Assistant
WTOB Channel 2. July 1998 – July 2000.
Duties included directing, producing, programming, hosting, set design, editing, lighting, camera and
audio work. Taught basic production techniques in monthly station-sponsored workshops.
Responsible for producing two regular monthly shows. Coordinated and supervised college interns.
Producer/Station Imager/Disc Jockey
New River Valley Radio. August 1999-May 2000.
Produced WFNR Sportstalk, a daily afternoon drive time sports talk show. Responsible for procuring guests and determining daily topics. Planned and produced station audio promotions and identifications to maintain one unique image for WBRW. Overnight disc jockey for WBRW.
Weekend Disc Jockey
WROV FM. April 1997 - June 1999.
Hosted and produced an on-air weekend shift, part-time during college. Duties included board
operation and knowledge of music format. Also produced Flashback and JohnBoy and Billy
Rock N’ Roll Racing on Sunday mornings. In-studio producer for approximately 20 Salem Avalanche
baseball games.
